Google Ad Grants for Nonprofits: Up to $10,000/Month in Free Google Ads

If you run a qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Google will give you up to $10,000 every month in free Google Search advertising. Volusia Branding & Digital helps Central Florida nonprofits apply, launch, and stay compliant — for a reduced management fee that never comes out of your ad credit.

What is the Google Ad Grant?

The Google Ad Grant is a program from Google for Nonprofits that gives eligible 501(c)(3) organizations up to $10,000 per month in free Google Search ads. It is in-kind advertising credit — not cash — and any unused budget does not roll over from month to month. Used well, it puts your cause at the top of Google exactly when people are searching for the work you do.

What $10,000 a month in free ads can do for your nonprofit

A fully managed Grant turns Google Search into a steady source of support for your mission. With it, you can:

  • Reach new donors who are actively searching for causes like yours
  • Recruit volunteers and fill seats at your events
  • Drive newsletter signups, recurring gifts, and one-time donations
  • Grow awareness for your programs across Google Search
  • Show up above other organizations for the keywords that matter most

How Volusia Branding manages your Grant

Most nonprofits lose their Grant because the account goes unmanaged and quietly falls out of compliance. We handle it for you: keyword research, campaign setup, conversion tracking, and the ongoing optimization Google requires to keep the Grant active.

Our fee for nonprofits is a reduced 5% management fee, available with agency preapproval and based on a qualifying website. That fee is billed separately and is never deducted from your $10,000 Google Ad Grant credit. You keep the full ad budget working for your mission.

Are you eligible? (Google decides — not us)

Eligibility for the Google Ad Grant is determined solely by Google, and the program is subject to Google’s terms, policies, and approval, all of which can change at any time. In general, your organization needs current and valid charity status (in the U.S., an active 501(c)(3)), enrollment in Google for Nonprofits, and a functioning website with meaningful information about what you do.

Some organizations are generally not eligible, including government entities, hospitals and healthcare organizations, and schools, academic institutions, and universities — though their separate charitable or philanthropic arms may still qualify.

Volusia Branding & Digital is an independent agency. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Google, and we cannot guarantee that your organization will be approved or that the program will remain available on its current terms.

Staying compliant with Google’s Ad Grant policies

Keeping the Grant takes active, compliant management every month. We help your account meet Google’s requirements, including:

  • Maintaining the click-through rate (CTR) Google requires for Grant accounts
  • Valid conversion tracking so your results are actually measured
  • Following Google’s keyword rules (no single-word, overly generic, or low-quality keywords)
  • Logging in and making meaningful account changes on Google’s schedule
  • Responding to Google’s annual nonprofit program survey

Failing to meet Google’s policies can lead to temporary deactivation or loss of the Grant. We work to keep your account in good standing, but all program decisions are Google’s alone.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Google Ad Grant give nonprofits?

Up to $10,000 in free Google Search advertising every month. It is in-kind ad credit, it does not roll over, and it cannot be paid out as cash.

Does the management fee come out of my $10,000 ad credit?

No. Our reduced 5% management fee is billed separately and is never deducted from your Google Ad Grant credit. The full ad budget stays available for your campaigns.

Is my nonprofit guaranteed to be approved?

No. Eligibility and approval are determined solely by Google and are subject to its policies, which can change. We help you apply and prepare your website, but we have no control over Google’s decision.

What can disqualify a nonprofit?

Government entities, hospitals and healthcare organizations, and schools and universities generally are not eligible, though their separate charitable foundations may be. A missing or thin website is another common reason applications stall.

Can you help if we already have a Grant but it was suspended?

Often, yes. Many suspensions come from compliance issues like low CTR or missing conversion tracking, which we can work to fix and apply for reinstatement.
